On November 30, Director of Diplomatic Institute Irina Dakhundaridze, along with Research Fellow , Ambassador Mikheil Ukleba, , attended a meeting of the Heads of Diplomatic Academies and Institutions of GUAM member states in Kyiv, Ukraine under the Georgian Chairmanship in the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development.
The Directors exchanged information on new developments, activities, projects and initiatives implemented over the course of last two years. The parties agreed on taking steps to offer a variety of development opportunities for diplomats representing GUAM member states including training courses, conferences and workshops.
During the visit, Irina Dakhundaridze also attended the meeting of Directors of Diplomatic Academies and Institutions from Eastern Partnership and Black Sea Region Countries, hosted by the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine organized together with Estonian School of Diplomacy and Swedish Institute within the framework of the Trilateral Diplomatic Initiative.
The Heads of Diplomatic Academies and Institutes from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Estonia, Moldova, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine discussed perspectives of enhancing cooperation in order to strengthen security and development in the Black Sea region. The parties agreed to develop joint training programs, as well as offer other capacity building opportunities to the diplomats of respective countries on the topics of their needs and interest.
