Within the framework of the project “Diplomatic Training in Economic and Commercial Statecraft”, the Georgian senior diplomats visited United States for a capacity building tour

On 10-14 July, within the framework of the project “Diplomatic Training in Economic and Commercial Statecraft”, the Georgian senior diplomats visited Washington DC for a capacity building tour aimed to share knowledge and experience with regards to professional development in the field of economic and commercial diplomacy. Irine Dakhundaridze, Director of Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training and Research Institute also took part in the study tour.

During the visit, the diplomats attended the presentations of Commercial Statecraft Course at the US Department of State’s Foreign Service Institute. They also had meetings and discussions at the US Department of Commerce and its agency CLDP, the Heritage Foundation, Wilson Center and U.S. International Development Finance Corporation.

The project is implemented in cooperation with the Policy and Management Consulting Group and with the financial support from the United States Department of State. It aims to improve the capacity of the Diplomatic Institute in order to enhance diplomats’ knowledge and skillset in the field of economic and commercial diplomacy, as well as strengthen US-Georgia relations in the economic dimension.
