Capacity Building in International Relations, Georgia

The EU-funded Project: “Capacity Building in International Relations, Georgia” was implemented between 2013 to 2016. Its overall objective was to promote and support capacity building of diplomats and civil servants in the field of international relations and European integration in Georgia.
Within the framework of the Project, 34 seminars covering 10 key topics were conducted, and four thematically linked study visits were organized over a 27 month period to Belgium, Estonia and Finland. The Project involved over 500 participants. The capacity-building activities included all relevant topics that contribute to the establishment of close relations between the EU and Georgia.
Eight new training modules and a team of associated trainers were developed for the Diplomatic Institute. Two trainer training workshops, study visits to various countries, and some 15 diplomatic academies were conducted.
The project was implemented by a consortium comprised of the Estonian School of Diplomacy, the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (GFSIS) and the College of Europe.
