50th International Forum on Diplomatic Training (IFDT)

On 8-11 October, the Director of the Diplomatic Institute, Irine Dakhundaridze, and her Deputy, Tamar Mangoshvili, participated in the 50th International Forum on Diplomatic Training (IFDT) in Bečići, Montenegro, hosted by the Diplomatic Academy of Montenegro.

The annual forum was opened with a welcoming speech by Ervin Ibrahimović, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, who underscored the critical role of diplomacy in maintaining peace and stability in the face of current global challenges.

This year’s theme was “Enhancing Diplomatic Success through the Power of Competence,” attracting over 80 representatives from diplomatic training institutions across 40 countries.

As part of the forum, Irine Dakhundaridze moderated a workshop titled “Competence Management in Diplomatic Training,” organized by the Clingendael Academy team.

Established in 1972, the International Forum on Diplomatic Training has been held annually to address the challenges and emerging trends in modern diplomacy. The Levan Mikheladze Diplomatic Educational and Research Institute became a member of the forum in 2014.
