On 15-19 November, Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training and Research Institute and Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute organized the series of seminars on the topic of “Energy and Climate Diplomacy, Energy Efficiency and Energy Management.”
The topics discussed during the seminars included trends and perspectives of global energy markets derived from EU Decarbonisation Strategy. The seminars also focused on the negative effects of global warming and climate negotiations development over the last three decades.
The project was supported by the UN and Bulgarian Development Aid and aimed to raise awareness of Georgian diplomats, representatives from governmental agencies and business sector, students, academic personnel as well as the representatives from Batumi City Hall, Government of Autonomous Republic of Adjara and Supreme Council about energy and sustainable development.
On November 15 and 16, the seminars were held in Tbilisi, at the NATO and EU Information Center and at the International Black Sea University,followed by two seminars on November 18 and 19 in Batumi at Shota Rustaveli State University and Sheraton Batumi hotel.
On the sidelines, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Diplomatic Institute and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.
